The event differs from normal AYBT District Series Event in that the structure of the tournament is Pool Play to Bracket Play.

Players go from a guaranteed five-game pool play configuration to a single elimination tournament on the event’s last day.

Medals will be awarded to first and second place finishers in each division. The boys will include players from third-through-eleven grades, while girls will include fourth-through-eleventh graders.

Teams looking to register have until May 17 to do so.

The event will take place in various facilities across Mt. Pleasant. Admission for fans is $5 per day for adults, $4 per day for students and seniors

For families visiting the Mount Pleasant area for the AYBT event, there are plenty of activities to do once the games are over.

The heart of the Isabella Indian Reservation, the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, stands tall as a vacation destination for all of Michigan. The Soaring Eagle recently completed an indoor waterpark and hotel complex as well.

If you’re interested in history, you can tour through the Ziibiwing Center, which uses different kinds of media to detail the history of the Chippewa tribe throughout the years.

Central Michigan University’s Museum of Cultural and Natural History is showing a temporary exhibit called The Price of Union: A Young Michigan in the Civil War. The presentation, located at CMU’s Bohannon School House, located on the corner of Preston and West Campus Drive.

Admission is free but donations are certainly appreciated.
