Following the Fourth of July festivities, five American Youth Basketball Tour (AYBT) events highlight the organization’s schedule this weekend.

AYBT will be hosting events in Ohio, Michigan and Illinois.

At the season’s second event in Bloomington, IL participants will take part in the Hoops for Troops tournament.

Directed by Todd Barbour, activities will be held at Illinois Wesleyan University’s Shirk Center, 302 E. Emerson St., in Bloomington. The event will benefit Compassion International, which provides direction and leadership to children around the world and Land of Lincoln Honor Flight, which honors Americas’ military veterans.

The second AYBT event in Peoria, IL, directed by Toby Whiteman, will take place on five courts at Illinois Central College, on three courts at the EastSide Centre and on two courts at Washington High School in nearby Washington, IL.

The event in Rochester, MI will utilize three high school facilities.

Directed by Bob Reason, the tournament will take over the courts at Rochester Adams High School, 3200 W. Tienken Rd., at Rochester High School, 180 South Livernois, and at Rochester Stoney Creek High School, 575 E. Tienken Rd.

Events in Toledo and Dayton, OH will be directed by John Wieck and Ben Ayers, respectively.

Spectator admission for all events is $5 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens, except for Toledo, which has a $100 per team spectator admission fee. Thus, there will be no fee charge at the door.
